SEO, or Search Engine Optimization is the process of designing, or redesigning a web-page or site to be "search-friendly", and hopefully rank higher in search results when your potential customers are searching for your products and services. This sounds simple, but there are many design rules that are involved in this process that can positively and negatively affect your "page rank" in the search results. Most designers are unaware of these rules or they choose to ignore them, and the site owner suffers. If your designer did not discuss optimization, page rank, and results initially, you may need to talk to a designer who can remedy your situation. Currently, there is a strong trend and interest for increasing page rank in search engines, and rightly so. Visibility in search results is the most dominant factor in traffic, revenue, and ultimately success in any web-based venture.
